Error message when trying to get a security code for new account

I'm trying to get a security code through my email address for creating a new account but I'm getting an error stating the following:

"Looks like we are having difficulties sending you a Security Code. Please contact support so we can help you with your account. Need Help? Contact Support"

I tried using my mobile phone number as well, but I didnt receive a security code through that either after waiting for several minutes.
