In most cases, no further documentation is needed; however, students seeking reclassification to CA resident status, an exemption of nonresident tuition, or priority registration may be required to submit further documentation. Students in these situations may include: military/veterans, foster youth, or minors under the care and control of a guardian. In some cases, it may be necessary to provide • proof of residency • military/veterans may need to provide their DD-214 or Leave and Earnings statement • foster youth may need to provide documentation • AB 540 students need to complete an AB540 form and may need to provide transcripts at some colleges as proof of high school attendance and graduation • Care and control students may need to provide documentation on their guardian Generally, it is not necessary to provide a High School or College transcript at the point of application-- UNLESS a transcript is necessary to prove a cumulative GPA or that a prerequisite was completed at another college.
